Rescue Video Emerges: How Police Stormed Rooftop, Freed Adelabu's Sister and Twin Sons

Dramatic video footage has surfaced showing the tense police operation that culminated in the rescue of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, younger sister of former Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu, and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, following their abduction in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The footage, which has circulated widely on social media, offers a gripping glimpse into the operation — showing one suspected kidnapper restrained in handcuffs while another was discovered concealed on the rooftop of a residential building where the victims were being held.

According to Force Public Relations Officer DCP Anthony Okon Placid, the rescue was executed around 7:30 pm on Saturday following painstaking intelligence gathering, surveillance, and sustained tactical pressure that allowed operatives to track and close in on the kidnappers' hideout.

"During the confrontation, two suspected kidnappers were fatally wounded, and two rifles were recovered. The victims were rescued unharmed and are now in safe custody, receiving medical care and support," Placid confirmed.

Two suspects were arrested during the operation, while other members of the syndicate fled the scene. Placid disclosed that preliminary intelligence suggested some of the fleeing suspects sustained gunshot wounds during the exchange of fire, and that security operatives have intensified efforts to hunt down and apprehend all remaining members of the kidnapping network.

The successful rescue, achieved through what authorities described as coordinated intelligence work and tactical precision, has drawn commendation from many Nigerians, even as it continues to fuel wider conversation about the state of security across the country.
