PRP Clears Donald Duke, Two Others for 2027 Presidential Primaries

The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has screened and cleared three presidential aspirants to contest its presidential primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections.


The cleared aspirants are:

Former Cross River State Governor, Donald Duke 

Economist Dr. Nnaoke Ufere from Abia State 

Yakubu Mohammed Kingsley (a former African Action Congress presidential candidate) from Edo State

The party’s presidential primaries were scheduled for Monday, May 25, 2026.

  

 The development was announced as the PRP intensifies preparations for the forthcoming polls. 


Donald Duke, who governed Cross River State from 1999 to 2007, is seen as one of the most prominent figures among the cleared aspirants.  

  

 Party officials described the screening process as thorough, ensuring that only qualified candidates proceed to the primaries.
