Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, has declared that the people of the North-East will reward President Bola Tinubu’s infrastructure initiatives with overwhelming support in the 2027 general elections.
Ndume made the statement on Saturday following the flag-off of the reconstruction and dualization of the 125-kilometer Gombe–Biu highway, a project valued at ₦1.245 trillion.
He praised President Tinubu and Minister of Works, David Umahi, for fulfilling their promises to rehabilitate the road, which he described as vital for economic integration, interstate mobility, security operations, and regional development.
Ndume recalled his long-standing advocacy for the project, citing engagements with former Minister Babatunde Fashola in 2019 and further presentations in 2021 on the need to prioritize the corridor.
He noted that his February 2026 letter to Umahi eventually led to Federal Executive Council approval under the NNPC tax credit framework.
“This project will unlock economic opportunities and improve the quality of life for Nigerians. I am confident that the people of the North-East will appreciate this gesture and reciprocate with their votes in 2027,” Ndume said.
