The Best LEGO Sets for Adults - Father's Day Gift Ideas

Father's Day is June 19 this year, which means you're running out of time to purchase a gift for the dad in your life. If said dad or father figure enjoys building things, a new LEGO set for adults might be in order. In recent years, LEGO has been putting out quite a few sets with an 18+ age recommendation. These are typically sets based on things adults might be into, and they usually come with a placard and/or stand so you can display them as decorations on a shelf or desk. Let's take a look at some of the best LEGO sets for dads.

Star Wars LEGO Sets

Of all the LEGO sets for adults, no theme is better served than Star Wars. LEGO has been pumping out all kinds of sets, ranging from a line of iconic buildable helmets to dioramas of memorable scenes from the films. And if you have a big enough budget, you can get some truly massive and impressive sets like the AT-AT one and an Imperial Starship.

Marvel LEGO Sets

LEGO's Marvel sets for adults aren't as wide-ranging as the Star Wars lineup, but there's some good stuff. My favorite among them is the LEGO Spider-Man Daily Bugle, but it's on the expensive (and big) side. Other options include busts of Venom and Carnage, plus a nice chunky Thor's Hammer set.

Car LEGO Sets

LEGO has been making car sets for adults for a while. If you love an iconic sports car, there's a chance you can find a LEGO set based on it. You can also pick up some awesome geek culture vehicles, like the Batmobile and the Ghostbusters' ECTO-1.

Video Game LEGO Sets

Honestly, it's surprisingly slim pickin's when it comes to LEGO sets for adults based on video game properties. That said, the ones available are pretty awesome. There's the NES set that includes a buildable CRT TV playing the original Super Mario Bros. The LEGO Tallneck from Horizon: Forbidden West is also phenomenal. And while the Super Mario Adventures sets aren't in tended for adults, the Mario and Luigi figures do interact with the NES, so that's why they're included above.

Harry Potter LEGO Sets

Not all of these LEGO Harry Potter sets are in the 18+ category, but they're among the larger builds in the Wizarding World universe, and they're all pretty awesome for fans of the books and movies.
