Rapper and media personality N6 has expressed concerns over the Federal Government’s decision to remove military drills from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camps, warning that the move could create serious security challenges.
Reacting to the recently announced NYSC reforms, N6 argued that the presence of military personnel has long helped maintain discipline and deter cult-related activities within orientation camps.
According to him, removing the military could embolden cultists and make some camps unsafe for corps members.
“Take the Military out of the NYSC camp and cultists will have a field day there. Dem go kpai people shege. Certain camps will become no-go areas for graduates from certain groups. Everywhere go begin hot. Have you ever heard of a cult clash in an NYSC camp? Why do you think so?” he wrote on X.
His comments come after the Federal Government announced major reforms to the NYSC scheme, including extending the orientation programme from three weeks to six weeks while scrapping military drills and replacing the traditional passing-out parade with a graduation ceremony.
