A viral video shared on X has ignited fresh conversation across social media after a man argued that societal pressure on unmarried women, particularly those in their thirties, remains largely misplaced and outdated.
In the clip, the man criticised what he described as persistent backward thinking among men regarding marriage expectations, expressing satisfaction that more women are increasingly pushing back against such pressure. He argued that a woman who chooses never to marry or have children loses comparatively little, unlike a man in the same position.
According to him, men bear a unique burden when it comes to preserving family lineage, names, and legacy, which he suggested explains why many place heavy emphasis on having children to carry forward their family identity.
Drawing from his personal background, he illustrated this point by noting that he knows considerably more about his grandfather's history than that of his grandmother, a pattern he believes reflects how family legacies are traditionally traced through the male line.
He went further to challenge the notion that an unmarried woman's life lacks fulfilment simply because she remains single past her thirties, insisting that such judgement is misguided and rooted in outdated thinking.
“Men build generations,” he stated, adding that the responsibility to retain a family name explains why men are often more anxious about marriage and children than women.
