Baymax! – the Big Hero 6 Series – Will Begin This June

Disney Plus's new Big Hero 6 animated series, Baymax!, will be released on June 29.

The six-episode series, once again set in the fictional San Fransokyo, sees Baymax doing "what he was programmed to do: help others," according to Disney.

The company announced the release date alongside a new Baymax! trailer and poster (both of which can be seen below).

"I thought it would be fun to do a Disney+ series with Baymax interacting with normal folks," said series creator and Big Hero 6 director Don Hall. "In each of our six episodes, Baymax just wants to help someone — and a lot of times they don't want to be helped. He sets out to fix a physical issue that he's identified, and in the process, gets to a deeper, more emotional place and can be almost transformative in that role."

Baymax voice actor Scott Adsit returns for the new series, alongside Maya Rudolp h (SNL), Ryan Potter (Titans), Emily Kuroda, Lilimar, Zeno Robinson, and Jaboukie Young-White. This is the character's second attempt at small-screen stardom, following Disney XD's Big Hero 6: The Series in 2017.

In other Disney Plus news, the streaming network is reportedly working on a new Daredevil series. For more on what subscribers can look forward to, here's a complete list of everything new to Disney Plus in May.
